Ever wonder what to bring to a mom who just had a baby? Why not put together and bring care packages for new moms? This is a great way to help the new mom out while supporting her new journey.
Care packages for new moms should totally be a new “thing”. Most people will opt to bring over a freezer meal and that is a great help, but if you want to think outside the box here are some suggestions:

Extra Toiletry Items
Items like extra pads, flushable wipes, or more numbing spray (read more about postpartum items that may be needed here).
These items are highly used and would save the new mom a trip to the store after just having a baby.
Snacks for Mom
Bringing over a new moms favorite snack item or coffee beverage (or any beverage they prefer) is a huge way to show love and support for the new mom. This would be a great quick item for care packages.
Diapers, Diapers, Diapers
Bring over a box of whatever brand the new mom prefers for her little one. This item will never go unused and might save the new mom a trip to the store.
Read here for my Huggies vs. Pampers post on which diaper works best.
You could also bring the next size up of diapers too as an extra precaution because you never know how long the baby will last in the sizes that she may already have.
My kids were both born at over 9 pounds, so newborn diapers only worked for about a week before I had to size up.
Extra Toiletry Items for Baby
While this is for care packages for new moms, what would also help a new mom out is being prepared for whatever she may need.
Maybe she didn’t register for specific toiletry items that baby may actually need. These missed items are great things to throw into a care package.
Items like travel sized tubes of butt paste for her diaper bag, or nail clippers for baby.
Travel Items for Mama
Items like travel sized hand sanitizers, tissue, tampons/pads, hair ties, chapstick, wipes, etc. Basically any item you may find in the travel section at Target could be a great item to add to a care package.
Food Delivery
The best and probably most useful item for a new mom is something that she can order herself and have delivered whenever she may want or need.
Food delivery gift cards for places like Postmates, DoorDash, or UberEats are great items to put in care packages for new moms.
This way she can order whatever food she is craving and have it made and delivered straight to her without having to load up the newborn into the car and drive over there and pray the baby stays asleep the whole time.
This is much more relaxing and she will love you for it!
Things to Make Mom Feel Human
Whether that be some dry shampoo, comfy slippers, tinted moisturizer, nail polish, face masks etc. Whatever might make the new mom feel human again and give herself some pampering time.

Hopefully these items will help you make the best care packages for new moms that can be completely customized for the mom.
I know I would have loved these items and I knew new moms will appreciate the gesture and thought.
