Disneyland Maxpass review and how to use this new tool.
It’s genius on Disney’s part! People can now get fast passes for their favorite rides all from the app! This is my Disneyland Maxpass review.
You can be in line for Small World and get a fastpass for Indiana Jones WHILE YOU WAIT!
No more running over to the ride to get a ticket pass then figure out another ride to do while ya wait! It’s amazing!
When you’re ready to use the fastpass you just walk up and scan the barcode from the app on your phone on their new scanning machines and viola you’re on your way to the ride! No more keeping track of paper tickets! SCORE!
Along with this MaxPass any photo you have taken by a cast member photographer, you know the ones walking around at all the photo opportunity spots with the nice big cameras, is all uploaded directly to the app via a scan code/number you put into the app!
And then BAM, all your Disneyland memories are on your phone to download directly to your phone anytime!!
No more deciding to pay a bunch of money to have a photo printed out!! Love this deal!
Now the catch?…it’s a little pricey (go figure it’s Disneyland 🙄😏).
The MaxPass is $10/day per PERSON! So for my husband and I (our kids were free since they are under 3 years old) it cost us $20/day for the MaxPass.
Now if you are going to go on a bunch of rides and take a bunch of “professional” photos then it’s completely 100% worth it.
For us, we used the fastpass option a few times (worth it for haunted mansion!) and we got our photos with Mickey and Minnie on the app.
We didn’t take a ton of photos with photographers and we didn’t even use a fastpass for rides the second day.
So it was okay for us mainly because we had small kids and didn’t want to wait in lines.
Now I will say the app can be glitchy!
It would freeze up on us and I had to email Disney photo customer service to have them hunt down our photos with Minnie because they never loaded to the app.
The customer service lady was super nice and helpful and found out photos and uploaded them to the app for me!
So it all worked out in the end! But it was a bit of a hassle at times.
So there are issues with the app and the MaxPass, but for the most part it was worth it.
I would suggest Disney update their app space to be not as glitchy with thousands of people using the app at once.
Oh and the app will also tell you a map of wait times and where characters are inside the park.
You can also order food ahead of time and skip the line through the app, but more on that in another post. 😁

We just used it a week ago. It was 10.00 per day in addition to your regular park ticket, which we paid for through the app. But as of last Monday, the price went up to 15.00 per day (so if you get a two-day park hopper along with the maxpass both days, you’re really paying an additional $30.00, and so on). It’s great in that you can link all the members of your party together (each one has to pay separately first), and get fastpasses for everyone at the same time, and don’t have to walk to the physical fastpass locations to get them! Very convenient. But keep in mind, it takes a bit to figure it out on everyone’s phones in your party, and you have to do it once you’re all inside the park. So plan a “sit-and-rest period” when you get in the park to work it all out. After getting a fastpass, there’s a time hold before you can get another one (time varies depending on ride). And only a certain number of fastpasses are allocated, though, so even if you pay the extra money for the maxpass app, they can still run out, so get the fastpasses early in the day. And all members of the party must be inside the park gates before you can get fastpasses for everyone in your group. The best thing about it is that it also includes all the Photopass photos that you can have taken by park photographers throughout the parks, and the pictures taken on rides, all downloadable included in the Maxpass.
