Are you out of that newborn baby phase where you need to pack everything and anything you may need for even just a quick grocery store trip? Is your baby now a toddler with a little less stuff, but still enough stuff that you need a bag? Well here are my favorite mom bags for toddlers.

Toddlers still need quite a bit of stuff for an outing, but not as much as babies/newborns. So mom bags for toddlers is a must.
Mom bags for toddlers are handy to have because while you may not need a whole wardrobe change with bottles, toys, and extra of everything toddlers still have a few must need items to bring on outings.
Toddlers may still need a pacifier, diaper and wipes (or extra underwear if they are potty trained), snacks galore, bandaids for those knee scraps, etc.
I grew out of my diaper bag when my toddler was about 2, then I switched to a quite fashionable mom bag.
But it still needed to be functional.
Which is why I have 2 mom bags for toddlers that I love and use almost, if not, every day!
Tote Mom Bags for Toddlers
First is a big tote bag. This Daisy Rose tote bag is perfect to insert your old diaper bag insert if you still need the functionality of pockets for storage.
I ended up taking out my diaper bag insert once both my kids were older than 3 and now just throw in the necessities for a day out.
It fits everything from diaper/wipes, their fire tablets, snacks, mini first aid kit, and all my items like sunglasses, wallet, keys etc. all with room for more! It truly is a huge tote.
This tote is perfect for travel too, airplanes, long car rides, etc. It fits a ton and looks cute, fashionable, and functional too!
The best part? It is super affordable too! This tote comes in multiple colors and prints too! This bag is under $50 which you can’t beat for a Louis Vuitton dupe bag!
PROS:
- large and open design
- comes with mini hand purse to put wallet and keys inside
- pretty design
- comes in multiple colors/patterns
- not expensive
- great sturdy quality
- fits everything you would ever need
- can fit a diaper bag organizer
- sturdy sides, no flopping over
CONS:
- hard to use everyday if you need both hands free
- not a ton of pocket options without an additional insert
Backpack Mom Bags for Toddler
The other bag I love is a bit pricer, but I love the fact it is a backpack or a shoulder bag.
This checkered print bag comes in cream(ivory), brown, or black checkered print and can be used as a backpack, which is how I use it, or it comes with a strap you can put on to transform it into a shoulder bag.
This backpack bag has a ton of built in pockets with zippers too! Some pocket are normal purse pockets, and others are zippered. Plus it has two open side pockets, two front zipper pockets, and even a back zipper pocket.
This bag I use as my everyday backpack. It can fit all the items I need daily for my 5 year old and my 3 year old, plus my items as well.
It is a relaxed slouchy type backpack which I usually don’t like but I like this version I am just careful what I put in the pockets. I don’t put anything too heavy in the inside pockets to make it collaspe inwards.
This backpack works perfectly, I have taken it everywhere and my favorite feature is that it is a backpack and I can wear it and have both hands free to handle the kids.
PROS:
- pretty design
- hands free options
- tons of pockets both zippered and non-zippered
- fits everything you may need for toddler
- comes with detachable purse that zips and locks (I actually use this as a hand purse when I go out just myself or for date nights)
- can be swapped for shoulder bag use or backpack use
CONS:
- pricer than other backpack bags out there ($78)
- only comes in 2 colors
- slouchy design so it will “flop” over if you put heavy items in the inside pockets
Personally I use both of these mom bags for toddlers for different purposes.
I use the tote more for events or days where I know I will need the tablets or other items I may not need for everyday use. I also use for airplane rides or long car trips.
I use the backpack as my everyday mom bag.
