If you have ever been inside a Target or on social media, I am sure you’ve seen the brand Olive and June Nail Polish before. Well is it worth the hype? How long does the polish last? What makes it different than other brands? I’m here to give you the full review.
This Olive and June nail polish review will talk about their kit you can order online. I purchased their get OJ Mani System kit which came with 5 polishes (which you get to choose), a top coat, nail tools and polish remover in a cute bag.
I have been using this polish for over 6 months now and testing against other types of polish as well.
The Olive and June brand does have some amazing colors, some unique to the normal store brand ones. They also have press-on nails but if you have seen my nail video on Youtube or blog post you may already know my issue with press-ons.
They have so many nail accessories and things to help your nails like cuticle serum, nail primer, strengthener, clean up brush, ridge filler, etc. So many nail care essentials.
They also have pedicure kits now as well but I have not tried those so for this Olive and June nail polish review we will stick to manicures.
The polish colors are amazing, so many options like I said and their website has even more than the stores usually care, especially their holiday polishes.
Which can be a bummer that you have to order online if you can’t find the color in store.
Now they have a method to their madness on how to use the polish system.
First you buff, file, and prep your nails in the shape and length that you desire. Then you can apply your first layer of polish. Wait 5-10 minutes then apply your second layer, wait 5-10 minutes than apply the top coat and you should be done after that dries.
Quick, easy and simple which is what is great about it.
Now what makes this brand different than others is, if you buy their specialized tool called The Poppy.
This handy little gadget (which comes in the OG system kit or you can purchase separately at stores like Target) goes on top of the bottle cap (remove the white cap first) and helps get that perfect application of polish without getting everywhere.
It helps give a steady hand when painting, especially helps when you are painting with your non-dominant hand.
Honestly that tool is what caught my interest in this brand. I love how comfortable it is to hold and how well it really does help.
Now, are the polishes more amazing that other brands like OPI? Personally I didn’t think they were anything super special. The polish is great, doesn’t chip too easily but it will chip with rough wear and usage. I still will switch between my OPI and Olive and June.
Now this is regular polish so if you are used to gel polish, it will not last as long as the gel in my personal opinion. The Olive and June polish lasts me about 2 weeks before I notice chips.
Overall I love the gadgets, the cuticle serum works great, the poppy makes doing your own nails so much easier and the polishes are beautiful!
