Us moms are always caring for our kids and family, right? Well now its time to care for ourselves! I’ve listed below some self care ideas for moms to recharge your mom batteries!
Everyone always says, “if mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody happy!”, and boy that can be the truth.
But there is one thing wrong with that statement, moms can fake it and drain all of their mama energy making everyone else happy before making mama happy!
That is just the way life goes sometimes. But it shouldn’t always be that way.
Moms give and give, but now is the time mama.
Put yourself first and not just one day a year on Mother’s Day. Give yourself time at least once a week!
Easier said than done though right? I get it; its hard to just take a day to go pamper yourself. Whether that is because you are a single mom, your husband works odd hours, or you just don’t trust anyone to watch your precious babies.
But here is a little twist, I’m not saying to leave the house!

I’m saying use some self care ideas for moms and give yourself a little pampering AT HOME and here are some ideas:
Face Mask
Give yourself a nice shower or bath if that’s more your style to relax and unwind after the kids go to bed (and hopefully stay there!). After the bath or shower, put on a nice face mask! Personally I love the Teami Green Tea Face Mask. It feels so refreshing afterwards!

Self-Tan
If tanning is your jam, then take a few minutes while that face mask is drying and give yourself a little glow mama! I promise you will feel better giving yourself a little glow and self-love.

Put on a Cozy Outfit/Jammies
Get comfy! That’s the point! Get into a cute and/or comfy pair of jammies or lounge wear and let yourself relax! Even put on your favorite cozy slippers and just relax after that nice calming bath/shower!
Put on Calming Music
Now you might not be able to blast your favorite songs, but put on some nice relaxing calm music and just let yourself listen in peace! You could even do this during the bath or shower, I promise it will make it that much more enjoyable!
Pour Yourself Something to Drink
Whether that is a glass or wine or a nice hot cup of tea, drink something yummy! Let yourself enjoy every sip uninterrupted.
Whiten those Pearly Whites
If this is also your style, you could whiten those teeth! Its the perfect time for it! I love using the Target Up&Up brand white strips because they are easy to put on and don’t give my teeth that tingly feeling.
Paint Your Nails
Give yourself a little manicure or pedicure at home! Grab some favorite polish and make those nails pretty!
You’ll feel more human again! Even if I can’t get to this whole list, most nights I will at least do this step because it makes me feel so much better!

Put on a Trashy or Favorite Show
Now that you are pampered and relaxed, lounge on that couch and watch a show YOU want to watch.
No kiddy shows or sing-a-longs, just a nice favorite show or trashy guilty pleasure that isn’t too mind-consuming. Let your mind relax, don’t pick a show that makes you think too much!
Unplug or Scroll-its Your Call
You can either unplug all together and enjoy the “you” time, or you can scroll social media mindlessly. But make sure if you are mindlessly scrolling, its healthy!
Don’t consume yourself with negativity and comparing yourself to that “perfect mom” you see on that 1X1 square! That’s not relaxing!
Stretch Your Body
Give yourself a nice little stretch! Whether that is some relaxing meditation Yoga or if its just stretching some muscles before bedtime!
Just give yourself that time to stretch after you’ve gotten relaxed.
Us moms can get tense during the day with all the neediness and demands put on us, so use this time to stretch that out!
Get to Bed Early!
Now this may or may not be possible depending on when your kids get to bed and what you decide to go off this list, but even if you can’t do anything else, let yourself get some extra sleep.
I know us moms cant decide between staying up late to get some alone time or getting that sleep.
But at least once (or even twice) a week, get to bed early to give your mind and body that extra (much-needed) sleep to make sure you are recharged for the next day!
I hope you take some of these self care ideas for moms and give yourself a little self-care and self-love night. Even if it is just once a week or month. You deserve to fill your energy tank too!
