Snack Storage

May 9, 2020 by Amelia Zamora Leave a Comment

Kids always seem to be hungry right? How many times a day does your kid ask for a snack? Well here is a snack storage solution to help with the constant asking for snacks.

snack storage

Whether your child is a small toddler or a teenager, they always seem to be hungry! Always asking for snacks and if your kid is too little to get it themselves, then that means they are asking you a thousand times a day for a snack. Well here are some snack storage ideas for you to make your little one a little more independent.

My toddlers would constantly ask for a snack at thee most inconvenient times, whether I was on a phone call or in the bathroom. That’s when they decided they were near starvation and could not wait another second for a snack.

It got old and very frustrating.

So I decided to brainstorm some ideas about how to give my toddlers a little independence and myself a break from the constant “mommy can you get me a snack pleeeeease?!”

Here are some snack storage options to try:

Bin/Drawer Inside Fridge

This way they can access themselves and help themselves to a healthy snack. I went to Target and looked around at the kitchen organization section and man some stuff was expensive. So I decided to go look over at the bin/organization section.

I found these white metal bins that would work perfect in my fridge. These worked perfectly on the lower shelf so my kids can grab a healthy snack without the need for me to get it for them.

Or there is tons of options at The Container Store for fridge and freezer storage ideas!

Bin Inside Pantry

Same concept but apply to the pantry. This bin I made a bit bigger because I had the space in my pantry and we tend to have more dry snack items than refrigerated.

This bin I got awhile back at Target, but they have tons of different options at The Container Store, Amazon, or Target/Walmart. You can measure what would fit and look best inside your pantry. Just make it kid friendly.

I got this bright green bin so my kids knew exactly which bin was free range and where their snacks are stored. Depending on the age of your kid, if they can read you can put a cute sign on it so they know.

Only Put Snacks You Want Them Eating

Don’t put treats or items you don’t mind them eating at all times of the day. Pick snacks that are healthy or semi-healthy. Meaning don’t put cookies or candy in there unless you don’t care if they eat it all day long, because they will!

Place Treat Items Out of Reach

Either place the treats in a secret spot that they can’t see or reach. This helps with unhealthy snacking and will *hopefully* help them choose healthier snack options.

Buy in Bulk

I usually try and get our kid snacks at Sam’s Club or buy multiple when grocery stores or Target is having sales. Then I only place a small amount of choices into the snack bin.

This helps with the constant snacking and it all being gone within one day. Then you can replenish the snack storage bin as needed without having to run to the store every other day.

Hopefully these storage hacks for snacks helps you gain a little bit of a break from having to get snacks every 30 minutes and helps your little one gain a bit of independence.

back in my @thedailygrindplanner planner era and w back in my @thedailygrindplanner planner era and while I needed to take a few months off daily planning and checking boxes, I also started to realize I was just going through the motions of my “big dream goals” and not actually ACCOMPLISHING anything. So here we are back in our planner era and knowing it will bring simplicity and accountability back to my life makes me excited about the future possibilities 🌸🧡
