My Top Skincare Products

Skincare is so important. Top skincare products can be so expensive though and claim to give “miraculous” results. But this review is about top skincare products that won’t break the bank.

I hate long and involved skincare regimens. I believe less is more in this department. Skin care is especially important and I wish I would’ve taken better care of my skin when I was younger. But top skincare products get expensive.

I thought because I didn’t have acne, I didn’t need to do much to my face. I didn’t even moisturize! (I know, I know!)

When I got into my later teenager years, I started to break out mainly from stress and hormones. So my mom and I decided we would try Proactive.

Worst decision for my skin! It made my skin dry and stiff (which at the time I thought meant it was working). I soon stopped using it but ever since then, my skin has had problems.

Now it could just be a coincidence, but I think the Proactive formula was too harsh for my sensitive skin.

I tried and used many, many, many products throughout my college and young adult years and now that I am in my adult and motherhood phase of life, I finally found a few top skincare products that have SAVED my skin!

Now after two pregnancies and lots of stress & hormonal changes, my skin was all out of wack by the time I gave birth to my youngest.

I was breaking out, I had acne scarring from previous years (and because I am a popper, yes I admit it, I cant help it. Well I’m sure I could but ya know).

Now I still have some minor spots that are still working to clear up. And although I’m in my late 20s, I do still get the occasional pimple or breakout usually because of stress or not drinking enough water.

Other than that, these items have made my skin so soft, moisturized, and (for the most part) break-out free!

First Aid Beauty Face Cleanser:

This product I have used previously during my first pregnancy because it doesn’t have harsh chemicals and it is save for my sensitive skin.

This product is also cruelty free which has become more important to me in my adulthood. I use this every night (not in the morning only because when I tend to use cleanser in the morning and night, I notice my skin doesn’t react well to it).

($10 for mini size at Sephora which lasts for me at least 3 months since I only use at night).

Thayer’s Witch Hazel Toner with Rose Petal:

This toner has been amazing! I have tried other toners with alcohol and it completely dries out my skin. This toner doesn’t contain ANY alcohol or harsh chemicals that dry out the skin!

This toner actually helps make my skin feel moisturized. I use this product every morning and nighttime, since it doesn’t dry out my skin.

The morning actually helps get all the oils and stuff off my face from sleeping and at night it helps get any left over makeup or gunk that cleansing missed. ($11 at Target)

Amara Organics Retinol Cream & Vitamin C Serum:

Now I swap between these two products depending if it is morning time or evening.

At night I use the retinol cream, this product has helped reduce my fine lines/wrinkles and made my skin feel so soft and firmer.

Now I will say this cream warns you that using this makes your skin more sensitive to sunlight so make sure and wear a SPF if you use this cream. (I just use my tinted Bareminerals cream which has SPF and my skin has been just fine).

Now the Vitamin C serum I use in the morning after I use toner and this has made my skin softer as well. The vitamin c helps with the production of collagen which helps fill in the fine lines and wrinkles.

This serum has also made my skin brighter. ($18 for the Vitamin C Serum & $20 for the Retinol Cream both on Amazon)

Origins GinZing Eye Cream:

This product I only use in the morning under and all around my eyes.

It helps brighten my eyes and get rid of the dark circles my two kids are giving me, as well as depuffs the eye area.

($31 at Sephora but this little container I purchased over 8 months ago and is only half way empty since I only use in the morning)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel Moisturizer:

This product is hands down one of my favorite moisturizers I have EVER used.

I used to use the Belif Aqua Bomb moisturizer and it was amazing too but it got very expensive for a small container plus Belif brand (review on that brand here) is not cruelty free and I try to make sure all my beauty products are cruelty free.

Plus the Hydro Boost is about half the price of the Aqua Bomb and works just as well, if not better so that is a major win in my book. I use this moisturizer in the morning and at night.

This hands down as helped made my skin softer and very well hydrated. ($17 at Target)

Overall these skincare products have helped heal my damaged skin. This post is not sponsored and I purchased every item mentioned myself.

I only write about products I truly believe in and that I have tried and tested for at least 2 weeks, some of these products I have been using 6 months-2 years.

Comment below if you have tried any of these products or if you feel there is a product out there that I HAVE to try and review on! 🙂

Here is a before and after a couple months of implementing new products and changing around products I had been using.

No makeup. No filter. No retouchment. Just selfies of my skin. 🙂

And here is an even longer difference in photos when my acne was at my absolute WORST!

I hope this inspires everyone that you can get clearer healthier looking skin! You just have to find the right products for your skin type.

Plus drinking more H2O and better diet helped DRAMATICALLY as well!
