Want your ponytail to have bounce and volume instead of it falling flat? See if the pony o review can help you decide.

This review is for the actual ponytail band. The pony o review is down below as well as my pros and cons.

This is definitely a unique little tool.

It’s thick silicone and definitely won’t snap like those elastic hair ties.

It didn’t give me a headache like I sometimes get with hair ties when I leave them in all day and it definitely added some life into my ponytail as you can see!

That was my main goal, get my ponytail to have a little more volume and life to it! Mission accomplished! ✔️

I kept thinking it would fall out, it never actually completely did, which is great.

It would loosen as the day went on and I’d have to tighten it but it wasn’t too tight which definitely helps with the no headache.

Although, if you’re looking for that tight grip feeling of a nice tight hairdo this did not give me that. At least if you have thick hair like mine.

My hair is wavy and thick. I used this with my hair naturally air dried with just a little frizz tamer product in it nothing major.

This band did keep my ponytail in place, but I didn’t get a very secure feeling from it.

It kept it in place, but I didn’t get that snug fit like I was hoping for. Granted this could just be me and my weird need to make sure it’s secure but who knows.

I think because my hair is super thick and “poofy” the band didn’t squish down flat enough to get a snug fit, but I could imagine this would be perfect for thin hair!

Now what I will say is that this band is PERFECT for half-dos.

When I did my hair some up and some down this band worked amazing! Gave my little ponytail life and kept it perky and in place all day long!!

This band is also a little different.

You pull your hair through and flatten the band around your hair, then bend the sides to secure it instead of wrapping like a normal hair tie.

It did crease my hair a little bit when I wore it up ALL day long, but nothing major that I couldn’t brush out. And this is nothing I wouldn’t get from a normal hair tie anyways. So this wasn’t a deal breaker!

I will add that is it is made of a thick silicone material so it is pricier than a pack of elastic bands, but you definitely won’t need to replace this as often.

So in the end it’s probably saving money. This product sells in a pack of 2 for $20 and comes in a variety of colors and they even have add-on overlays to make it festive and fancy (for extra).

PROS:

  • Won’t break like elastic bands
  • No headaches
  • Lasted all day long without completely coming undone
  • Comes in pack of 2
  • Multiple color shades to match hair color
  • Works ideal for smaller ponytails

CONS:

  • Harder for thicker hair to get that snug secure feeling
  • Using with thicker hair, you will have to re-tighten throughout the day if you use one big ponytail

Overall this product did give life and perkiness to my ponytail, which is what I was mainly looking for, so it did what it is advertised to do.
