Have you ever been driving around and you hear the 5 most dreaded words coming from your kid? “I have to go potty”. This is why everyone (especially mamas) need the best portable potty in their cars (and lives).

There are a ton of different portable potty options out there and I have tried a few, which I love both for different reasons, but I’m here to share my favorite and best portable potty.

When we first started our potty training journey, it was a struggle because our oldest was afraid of the “big potty”. I mean I don’t blame her.

So for the house we got this princess potty which would sing when the sensor got wet. Now this portable potty was great because it was wide and sturdy. She loved it and we would take it when we went places like Grandma’s house or anywhere that we were going to be for a long period of time.

I would even throw it in the back of the trunk for car rides. This was a pain though because I would have to remember to bring it back inside before the next potty time (which there were a ton of close-call situations with that).

And to this day with my youngest, I still use this princess potty in our bathroom as her main potty place.

The main difference this time around, I got the best portable potty for the car and travel!

I needed something that could STAY in the car and I wouldn’t have to remember to lug it back inside every time we left the house.

It helped my mental state and I now have one less thing to worry about when packing up to go anywhere.

I do also have one that folds up for public places like the grocery stores, Target, etc. that fits in my diaper bag or purse that we love and works great for out in public. But for car rides or parks that don’t have a bathroom nearby I needed a solution.

So, I purchased this foldable portable potty on Amazon. I loved that it completely collapsed down so it could fit nicely in the back seat pocket (or trunk) without taking up a ton of space!

I also loved it came with a roll of liners (like the ones for dogs lol). I was skeptical about the weight limit though, but decided to give it a try.

I’m so glad I did!

It works like a charm and truly is the best portable potty. Everyone that sees it is amazed at how compact it gets!

You just grab ahold of the bottom and top and twist it up and turn the top to lock into place!

It is sturdy too! My 6 year old who weighs about 50-ish pounds had to use it one day at the park and it worked perfectly! I have even stood on it to make sure it wasn’t going to collapse mid-use.

So it is very sturdy. I love the baggies that come with it too because it makes for SUPER easy clean up!

After use, toss in the wipes or whatever and wrap it up and toss it!

PRO TIP: after each use, re-line it so it is ready to go for next time that way in a “I have to go NOW” type situation, there is no waiting to re-line the potty!

Super convenient and easy to use. Plus it comes in pink and blue. And comes with a travel bag as well to store in when not in use.

PROS:

  • sturdy (holds up to 154 pounds)
  • multiple colors (pink and blue)
  • easy to use
  • collapsable
  • comes with bag for storage
  • comes with liners for easy clean up
  • big “tank” for big potty time action
  • fits easily anywhere
  • great for travel or cars

CONS:

  • seat isn’t super comfortable, but its for quick use so doesn’t bother them too much

Overall this is the best portable potty in my opinion and has come in handy on multiple occasions. If you were in a major pinch, an adult could totally squat over this this too and use it. Let’s be honest, we’ve all thought about it.
