Imagination toys seem to be something of the past nowadays.
Between YouTube Kids, tv shows, and video games it seems that kids spend more time in front of a screen than actually playing with toys.
Don’t get me wrong, screen time can be educational with the right applications, but I think kids need to be kids with toys that spark some imagination and creativity again.
I got sent these toys from hahaland to try out and write about. These toys were gifted to me and while this is a sponsored post, I firmly still believe kids still need to PLAY with toys and not just watch other kids play on a screen.
These three toys sparked all sorts of different things in my kids. Now I have a 6 year old and almost 4 year old and both of them loved these toys.
Actually they haven’t stopped playing with these imagination toys which has sparked all sorts of creativity and learning in them.
First off, this wooden city building block set is not only the cutest little wooden block set I’ve seen, but there are many different ways to use this imagination toys.
My kids loved building a little town, since it comes with a puzzle play board that has a road printed on it so the little wooden cars can drive along the town and pick up the little wooden people.
Imagination toys also teach kids about building, creativity, and the real world. It comes with stop and go signs to teach real life scenarios.
Kids can build their own imagination town and drive around creating different scenes in their heads.
I loved the different colored blocks to help the little ones with color recognition as well as some blocks have letters and numbers on them to practice letter and number recognition.
And for the older kids, some blocks have plus and minus signs with the numbers to practice math and calculations.
This imagination toys block set really sparked some creativity and learning in my kids. Which as a parent, I also love.
Next, we got a peace defender robot set. This includes 5 different military vehicles that you can use the play tool screwdriver to combine them to make one giant robot (shown below).
This set was great for my oldest to learn to follow picture directions to built the robot herself and practice using real life tools in kid form (for safety).
She loved taking the screws out and building it herself. She used the imagination toys to create her own robot as well after she got the hang of it!
Now my youngest had a hard time with putting it together, so this toy is definitely for the older kids.
She did still love playing with the cars individually and creating scenes in her head while using the imagination toys to spark play time.
The third toy we got was a unicorn soccer ball.
This soccer ball was great because my kids are obsessed with unicorns, but it came with a pump so there was no need for me to rummage around the garage looking for a bike pump to pump it up.
It came with everything needed to get playing right away.
I also love that it came with a net and long handle string so the kids could hold it and practice kicking the ball for some hand-eye coordination learning.
My kids thought that was the coolest thing that they could hold it, kick it and it came right back. Such a great tool for those with limited outdoor play space or to practice coordination for their kids.
These three imagination toys I was a huge fan of as a parent because each toy, my kids learned something different and got a different benefit out of the toys.
Hahaland has many different toy options ranging from all different ages from babies to older kids. Highly recommend their products as they are well-designed and built.
We haven’t had any issues with them (other than sharing, but I have a whole separate post on handling that).
The only thing I would say is watch for the recommended age on the toys. Like I said previously, my youngest had a hard time with the robot, but she loved playing with the cars separately so it still worked out.
Overall my kids loved playing with these imagination toys from Hahaland and I loved that it sparked more hands on playing.
