Do You Need a Diaper Bag Organizer Insert?

Are you tired of your diaper bag looking like a treasure box filled with snacks, diapers, toys, etc. all while trying to find your keys or wallet? You may need a diaper bag organizer insert.

Then you need a diaper bag organizer insert! Now I have tried different brands and styles. I even switched to a backpack diaper bag that had built in pockets and such.

(Click here for my diaper bag checklist).

That worked for awhile but I wanted my stylish purse back. I wanted to feel like a woman again, hell a human again not just a person who holds the baby and toddler crap!

Before I got the ToteSavvy organizer, I started with a simple black organizer I got on amazon as a shower gift and it was under $30!

It worked for awhile but the floppy sides and pockets that didn’t have sturdy sides left stuff falling out or me still having to dig around because the sides fell into each other.

Anyways I didn’t really like it after awhile especially with as my kids got older, they started needing more stuff!

So for Christmas this past year I asked for the ToteSavvy Original! My mom ordered my one on amazon for $78. Now that’s a steep price for an organizer I admit.

(After looking again, the original on the actual ToteSavvy website is $65 plus shipping).

I went back and forth for awhile asking someone to spend that much for an organizer and I went back and forth for awhile myself whether I was going to purchase myself. But anyways I got the organizer.

Now this organizer is very pretty and has so many pockets (11 to be exact). I actually haven’t filled them all yet!

This organizer is sturdy and will stand up on its own even unlike many other organizers. I also love that you can simply load up the organizer and switch it from purse to purse easily without having to take anything out!

Great bonus! It fits snugly in my Michael Kors tote purse but I’ve seen it advertised in the LV bigger tote with plenty of room surrounding it.

The dimensions of the organizer are 14″ L x 10″ H x 4″ D

What’s Inside My Diaper Bag Organizer?

I have the usual diapers, wipes, extra undies for my potty training toddler, and extra clothes. But I also have extra pacifiers, snacks for both kids (and for mama).

I also have boogie wipes for runny noses, I have on the go Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer spray.

I also have a smaller snap bag with mommy necessities like chapstick, gum, tampons, hair ties, mascara and concealer, nail file/clippers, tide stain pen, bandaids, Neosporin and small oral thermometer.

I also have bottles and formula packets in the organizer, bibs and teethers, as well as my wallet and keys.

I try and keep my bag simple since I have blankets and extra clothes and such in my car!

This organizer holds all those items mentioned above plus there is room for me to throw in extra items depending on where we are going that day.

Now my bag looks a little jam packed in the photo but that it because my bag is a tad too small for the organizer. I mean it fits snugly but if you want extra roomy space or the ability to store more stuff in the center than definitely opt for a bigger tote purse or ToteSavvy.

They do sell smaller organizers for smaller bags and backpacks. But keep in mind they don’t have as many pockets.

Now the insert comes with a changing pad that is rolled up in the center of the organizer but I find it hard to get to if I have stuff packed in the center on top of it so I don’t use it.

But my baby is old enough (11 months) that I don’t have to change her every hour. But if you have a younger baby then I suggest moving the changing pad to a different spot if you want to put stuff in the center.

The tote also has a side slot for an iPad for your kiddo or yourself to get some work done. It’s an option.

I leave this spot open but if we were going on a long trip I would definitely store an iPad in there! Or even charging cords or small books for the kids.

I have also seen this organizer be used in totes for college kids or working mamas! I think it would work perfectly for that!

A TON of pockets for pens, cords, water bottles, snacks, phones, notepads, iPad slot, and anything else you would need for your school or work needs!

PROS:

  • Multifunctional (use as book bag organizer or diaper bag organizer)
  • Pretty and simple design
  • Easily able to wipe down nylon material
  • TON of pockets (11) and storage spots
  • Company sells multiple sizes
  • Sturdy sides so no caving in
  • Ability to pack the organizer and switch bags with ease
  • Comes in different colors
  • Comes with an insulated pocket for liquids

CONS:

  • A tad pricey ($78 for original on amazon, $65 plus shipping on their website) but you have the ability to use it long term
  • Changing pad rolled up on the center bottom so a tad inconvenient if you want to store stuff in the center (but can easily be moved to different location if needed so this wasn’t a deal breaker for me)

Overall for me this organizer has definitely been worth it and if I could go back I would definitely put on my baby registry!!
